After what is sure to be a long month of pre-poolside dieting, my cravings for snacking will no doubt make a comeback, and I’ll head for the sweets. I’m ashamed to admit I’ve scraped off freezer burn just to get a taste of 2-month-old chocolate ice cream (and I know I’m not the only one).
Aside from Brian and Tracy Merkley being an obviously attractive couple, one fact that makes them so much more adorable is that they are high school sweethearts. He was a Trinity basketball player while Tracy cheered for Assumption. Now ain’t that the stuff Louisville is made of.
With everyone still in recovery mode from Derby weekend, a little hair of the dog is in order. Let’s bring it all back to what got us here and re-live the excitement of the first Saturday in May with the Third Thursday of the month at The Voice-Tribune’s Eat • Play • Live After-Work Party.
It seemed odd at first when I sat down to do my Out ‘n’ About on Cave Hill Cemetery. With all do respect, I think we can all agree that no one there is necessarily the life of the party. Fast forward to this week, and the loss of a dear friend’s father made this week’s column all the more relevant.
