Camping With Coach Strong
This past Sunday, while others were ailing from night-before adventures, Tracy Blue, publisher of The Voice-Tribune, and I were doing a “warm up” of jumping jacks, sprints and push-ups led by members of the University of Louisville football coaching staff.
Sweet Surrender
After what is sure to be a long month of pre-poolside dieting, my cravings for snacking will no doubt make a comeback, and I’ll head for the sweets. I’m ashamed to admit I’ve scraped off freezer burn just to get a taste of 2-month-old chocolate ice cream (and I know I’m not the only one).

David Son, Rose Collar Foundation
Attorney by day, legend in the making by night, David Son will help bring a new reason to gather this Derby Season as he hosts the inaugural Rose Collar Derby Soiree Thursday, May 5, from 7 p.m. to midnight at Majid’s St. Matthews.
Cave Hill Cemetery
It seemed odd at first when I sat down to do my Out ‘n’ About on Cave Hill Cemetery. With all do respect, I think we can all agree that no one there is necessarily the life of the party. Fast forward to this week, and the loss of a dear friend’s father made this week’s column all the more relevant.
