Feeling the Sunlight on your Face

My idea for this photo shoot was to make my model into a party. I think I succeeded pretty well, we had balloons and funky makeup and especially really nice outfits thanks to my stylist, Abbie Tyler. We shot in Cave Hill Cemetery in the morning, so the light was just about perfect. Thank you to Heather Pittman for modeling, and Abbie for styling. I think these came out great and I will have the second half of this shoot to share with you next week.

Model is Alida Roorda, clothing from Acorn Apparel

I originally had another shoot planned for this week, but that fell through due to scheduling issues. I asked my friends/models Chloé Bell, Olivia Ross, and Alida Roorda if they’d model for me, and they gladly agreed. We didn’t have a definite location planned for the shoot, which really shakes me up because I really like to plan my shoots out before I execute them. We took pictures outside of the restaurant Porcini first, and then ventured down Frankfort Ave to find our next location. We saw this nice abandoned auto sales lot, and decided to shoot there. After we were done with that, we shot at this cute little garden place off of Payne Street. It was a very lively and uneasy experience, but that just makes developing the photos and seeing them even better.

Sunglasses from Acorn Apparel, Dress from General Eccentric

I had been planning to shoot Megan for over a month, and the day finally came this past Saturday. We styled for the shoot on Friday, getting clothes from General Eccentric, Acorn Apparel, Hey Tiger, and Pink Door Boutique, all located on Bardstown Road in the Highlands of Louisville. We chose 11 perfectly awesome outfits to shoot in. The makeup for this shoot was done by Coco Cobb. We arrived at Yew Dell Gardens on Saturday, shot for 3 hours, and headed home. I shot 4 rolls of film and developed them all at my house. It was quite an experience!

Kiersten

Last fall I called up Catherine’s Legacy Boutique and asked to use their clothing for a shoot. They agreed to let me borrow clothes, and the shoot then went really well. Out of the blue about a week ago, Norma, the nice lady who runs the place, called me again and asked me to shoot their Spring collection. I agreed, and got four models to shoot. My lovely boyfriend Ryan and our friend/my wardrobe stylist Luke came along as well. It was sort of a big deal! We drove around in two cars, and found a cute little bench and creek next to the residential area in Seneca Park. I shot in black and white and color, and I converted most of the color photos to black and white. Models were Cate Heine, Chloé Bell, Alida Roorda, and Kiersten Edwards. All clothing (except for bandeaus) from Catherine’s Legacy Boutique.
